Dr. Mike Edwards

Senior Pastor

mike@piedmontbc.org

Dr. Mike Edwards is the Founding and Senior Pastor of Piedmont Baptist Church. In 2001, he and his wife, Amy, stepped out in faith to plant the church with just four people meeting in a public school gym. More than two decades later, God has grown that small beginning into a thriving church family committed to exalting the Savior and equipping believers to engage their world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

For more than twenty five years, Pastor Mike has led Piedmont through the steady preaching of God's Word and an unwavering commitment to biblical truth. His ministry has never been shaped by trends or personalities, but by the timeless authority and sufficiency of Scripture. That conviction has defined the culture of Piedmont Baptist Church and impacted countless lives through biblical preaching, strong pastoral leadership, and a genuine love for people. Whether encouraging church members or mentoring young preachers, his desire has always been to glorify Christ by serving God's people.

In addition to his ministry at Piedmont, Pastor Mike has preached in churches, camps, conferences, and revival meetings across the country. He is also the author of several books on leadership and spiritual growth, including a book on biblical marriage coauthored with his wife, Amy. He earned degrees from Tennessee Temple University, Carolina Bible College, and Victory Baptist College and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Ministry from Veritas Baptist College.

Pastor Mike and Amy have two daughters, Sarah and Anna. More than two decades after those first four people gathered in a public school gym, he remains grateful for God's faithfulness and committed to the same calling that first led him to plant Piedmont Baptist Church: preaching God's Word, caring for God's people, and pointing others to Jesus Christ. Outside of ministry, he enjoys watching sports, fishing, and spending time with his family.
