WHO WE ARE
At Piedmont Baptist Church, we exist to exalt the Savior and equip believers to engage their world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
To exalt the Savior means that Jesus Christ is at the center of everything we do. Through worship and biblical preaching, we help people clearly see who He is and respond to His grace with their lives.
To equip believers means we are committed to helping people grow in their faith. Through practical teaching and authentic community, we encourage every person to take their next step and live out what they believe.
To engage our world with the Gospel means we don't stop at the church doors. We believe every follower of Jesus is called to share His hope in every day life - at home, at work, and in our community.
At our core, we are a church passionate about helping people know Jesus, grow in Him, and make Him known.
OUR HISTORY
Piedmont Baptist Church began with a step of faith. As Pastor Mike and his wife, Amy, sought the Lord’s direction, every door to plant a church elsewhere closed. On August 20, 2001, God used Philippians 4:9 to clearly lead them to start a church in the Enochville area.
Trusting His leading, they began searching for a place to meet. After initially being denied access to Enochville Elementary School, where Amy was teaching, they spent time in prayer, and the decision was soon reversed. It was a clear sign that God was making a way.
The first service was held on October 4, 2001, with just eight people present. The following Sunday, 45 people gathered, and during that service, a woman gave her life to Jesus Christ, a powerful beginning to what God would continue to do.
In 2003, the church purchased property on Wright Road and built their first sanctuary. The church rapidly outgrew that building, and they later built a larger sanctuary, completed in 2011. In 2022, God brought the story full circle by allowing the church to purchase the old Enochville Elementary School, now known as their Family Life Campus, which hosts many events and ministry opportunities.
What began with a small group stepping out in faith continues today as Piedmont Baptist Church faithfully shares the Gospel and serves the Enochville community.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be the verbally and plenary inspired Word of God. The Scriptures are inerrant, infallible and God-breathed, and therefore are the final authority for faith and life. The sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament are the complete and divine revelation of God to man. We believe that the Authorized Version – King James Bible is the preserved, infallible Word of God for the English speaking people.
2 Timothy 2:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 12:6-7We believe that the Godhead eternally exists in three persons: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Ghost; and that these three are one God.
Deuteronomy 6:4; Genesis 1:26; Matthew 28:19We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, came into the world that He might manifest God to men, fulfill prophecy, and become the Redeemer of a lost world. To this end, He was born of the Virgin Mary, received a human body and a sinless human nature without ceasing to be God.

We believe that, in infinite love for the lost, He voluntarily accepted His Father’s will and became the divinely provided sacrificial Lamb and took away the sins of the world.

We believe He rose from the dead in the same body, though glorified, in which He had lived and died and that His resurrected body is the pattern of the body which ultimately will be given to all believers.

We believe that on departing earth, He was accepted by His Father and that His acceptance is a final assurance to us that His redeeming work was perfectly accomplished.

We believe that He became head over all things to the church, which is His body, and in this ministry He does not cease to intercede and to be an advocate for the saved.

We believe that every believer receives grace from God in the form of a spiritual gift, which enables him to function as a member of the body of Christ.
Romans 12:6; 1 Corinthians 12:7; Ephesians 4:7We believe that no one can enter the kingdom of God unless born again spiritually, and that the new birth of the believer comes only through faith and acceptance of the redeeming work of Jesus Christ, the Son of God at Calvary. We believe, also, that our redemption has been accomplished by the grace of God, an unmerited gift, given in love by God and not the result of any human works.

We believe that the message of our Lord Jesus Christ to those whom He has saved is to make Christ known to the whole world and that this is the purpose of the church through the individuals within it.

We believe that local churches, such as Piedmont Baptist Church, gather together for practical instruction in the scriptures, for fellowship with God and with other believers, and for corporate witness to the unsaved world. Our common spiritual goal is to be like Christ and to fulfill the Great Commission.
Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:42-47; Romans 12:5; Ephesians 4:13-16We believe that a future period of great tribulation on the earth will be climaxed by the return of the Lord Jesus Christ to the earth as He went in person in the clouds with power and great glory to establish His millennial kingdom. But prior to this tribulation, we believe there will be the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ in the air to receive to Himself into Heaven both His own who are alive and remain until His coming and also all who have died in Jesus Christ.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-17; Zechariah 14:4-11; Revelation 3:10We believe all men were born with an inherited sin nature received from our common ancestor, Adam. We believe that because of his nature, man is a sinner by choice, and he is totally incapable of reforming himself or ceasing from his sin by his own power. We believe the only hope of deliverance for man is a total change of mind concerning his sinful condition and inability to change it, and a turning to Jesus Christ as the only Saviour. We believe that only through the substitutionary sacrifice of Christ on the cross can a man be eternally delivered from his sin. We believe that all those who reject Jesus Christ as their Saviour are already condemned to an eternity in the lake of fire.
